A's to your q's

Having food intolerances or allergies can be tricky business and we understand how nerve-wracking it can be to put your trust in someone else's hands. Here are some answers to commonly asked questions about our products but if there's anything else you'd like to know, don't hesitate to drop us a line. We're more than happy to have a chat!

Are all your products gluten and dairy-free?

In short - yes! Our premises are completely gluten and dairy-free though if you have any serious allergies (of any kind), please do get in touch so we can double-check any potential opportunities for cross-contamination or trace ingredients, as well as advise whether our products are suitable for you or not.

Can I see a full ingredients list for your products?

Absolutely. Head to our ingredients page for a full list of ingredients for each flavour of cake. But if you have any queries, please do let us know.

Are your products nut-free?

We don't like to use the term nut-free as we do have almonds in the bakery and they are occasionally used for limited-edition flavours. Some of our ingredients are also produced in environments that handle nuts, so there is potential for traces from further up the production chain than just ourselves.

That being said, we don't use nuts in any of our standard recipes. Please contact us if you have any nut allergies or intolerances and we can talk through whether our products are suitable for you.

when will my order be shipped?

At the moment, we bake and ship orders on Wednesdays - no matter what day of the week you ordered - so they should be with you on the Thursday after you order, as long as we receive it before the order deadline (see below). This means your cakes will still be fresh for the weekend, just keep them in an airtight container!

How much does postage cost?

We've recently changed our postal provider to an overnight courier after too many delayed and damaged parcels (not ideal for you or us!). We now offer a flat right overnight service for £8.75 which is guaranteed delivery on a Thursday in mainland U.K. For areas outside of the mainland, please contact us for a postage quote.

If you aren't going to be in on the day of delivery, please have it delivered to your workplace or another address to ensure you receive your cakes as fresh as possible. This also protects them from perishing or spoiling whilst left outdoors.

What is the cut-off time for orders?

Because we only bake on Wednesdays (for now!), your order needs to be with us by midnight on the Tuesday so that it can be delivered two days later on the Thursday. If you place your order after this deadline, it will be baked and posted the following week instead. If you have any questions about this, please get in touch.

do you sell cakes wholesale?

We do! Please visit our Wholesale page for more information.

What is the packaging like for my parcel?

We've really carefully sourced our packaging products and pride ourselves on actively working towards being a sustainable business. Whether it's recyclable or compostable, all of our packaging has been carefully curated and you can find full details of what you can expect to receive on our Packaging page.

do you offer gift-wrapping?

We like to think that our regular packaging is already gift-worthy and every order is hand-packaged with the utmost care. We don't offer a gift-wrapping service at the moment but this is coming soon! None of our packages include invoices with pricing information, so you don't need to worry about that either.

How long do the cakes and scones keep?

Our cakes and scones are always best eaten fresh but they're still at their best for up to five days after you receive them and we'd recommend keeping them in an airtight container to ensure they're as yummy as possible.

can I freeze the cakes and scones?

Absolutely! Make sure to put them into a freezer-safe container. They can be kept for up to three months in the freezer but we wouldn't recommend keeping them longer than that. When you're ready to chow down, defrost them at room temperature and enjoy!
